Be a Part of the Fight Against Cancer with Neubodi and NCSM

The end of the year is a special time and it is a moment to reflect on our blessings and extend kindness to those around us. It’s also the perfect opportunity to give back and make a lasting impact on the lives of others. This season,we’ve come together with National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) to bring hope to women fighting cancers like breast, cervical, and ovarian cancer.

Cancer doesn’t take a holiday. For many women, the fight against cancer can be a lonely and overwhelming journey, one that takes a toll not just on their health, but on their emotional and financial well-being. Apart from breast cancer being the leading cancer among women in Malaysia, cervical cancer continues to pose a significant health concern.

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus that connects to the vagina. It is most commonly caused by persistent infection with certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV), a virus that is transmitted through sexual contact as well as low immune status, number of births, young age at first pregnancy, hormonal contraceptive use, and smoking.

Cervical cancer often develops slowly and may not show symptoms in its early stages. Those eligible for cytology screening, the initial screening is yearly for two (2) years. If the results were normal, then a 3-yearly cytology is indicated.
