Everyday, a new hero is born. Typically when we think of heroes, espsecially in the Covid-19 era, a nurse or firefighter or police officer might come to mind. While these individuals are all heroes, what if I told you that mothers are heroes too? Yes mom, especially in this pandemic, I am eternally grateful to have you around. You are my hero, my boss, my mentor, and you never fail to inspire and move me in the best possible ways.
Mom, you have the hardest job in the world and yet you do it every day without asking for anything in return. When I look at you, I see a strong woman who has never given up. I see you juggling so much, disciplined in your drive and determination, and the ability to switch gears, focus and make your time count. I know your sacrifice, constantly having to juggle between being a mom, a daughter, a wife, whilst having to work as well. It’s especially tough for you. You constantly rearrange things in your mind, shuffling thoughts about to see where it’s possible to squeeze more time out of your day, to search for alternative solutions that give you what you most want. You are doing a great and honorable job. I am who I am today because of your love and sacrifice, and I am so fortunate to have you as my mom.
On this Mother’s Day, I hope and encourage every #MomBoss to don’t forget to love yourself. While you gobble up those poorly made pancakes, signing off those paper works, cleaning the house, remember to show yourself appreciation and love as well. And then keep doing it. The gift of self-care is not a self-indulgent treat you get once a year. It’s a necessary part of a happy family and something you should practice every day.
Happy Mother’s Day to all moms.
You’re a strong mother, a proud #MomBoss – a boss in life, a co-boss in your family, and a boss in your career life. Don’t ever forget that!
