In October 2024, we united to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an important cause for women worldwide. Throughout October, Neubodi proudly took part in Pinktober events, including our Bra Drive, Bratology Talks and Bra Fitting Session, to spread awareness, provide support, and inspire action.
Since 2015, Neubodi’s Bra Drive has championed a dual mission: reducing textile waste while supporting women and girls across Southeast Asia through the donation of gently used bras. This meaningful initiative raises awareness about the environmental impact of textile waste and demonstrates how simple acts, like recycling bras, can create lasting change. By empowering women and spreading hope, the Bra Drive underscores the power of collective action.
Bra Drive collections are made convenient through dedicated Bra Bins placed at all Neubodi outlets across Klang Valley, Penang, Johor, and Sabah. To further expand our reach, we have partnered with organizations such as Teleflex Malaysia, Taiping General Hospital, Common Ground 1 Powerhouse, ParkCity Medical Centre, and Penang Adventist Hospital. These partnerships enable us to provide Bra Bins at additional locations, making it even easier for the community to get involved.
This enhanced accessibility inspires more individuals to participate, highlighting the power of collective action to spread hope and empowerment across communities worldwide. Together, we can make a lasting impact—one bra at a time.
The Butterfly Project Group is a vibrant community that Neubodi actively engages and collaborates with. Through this partnership, Neubodi creates intimate gatherings where we share valuable insights about our bras and provide educational talks about breast health and proper support.
These events also spotlight our impactful Bra Drive campaign, inspiring members to spread the word and motivate their followers to contribute. Together, we create a ripple effect of awareness and action for a meaningful cause.
Bratology Talk is a Neubodi initiative aimed at educating women on wearing the right bra, maintaining breast health, and choosing styles suited to their needs. During Pinktober, we worked to raise awareness, helping women find their perfect fit and care for their well-being. This year, our efforts were enriched by incredible partners, including Hong Leong Bank, with whom we held two sessions, as well as Turner International and Hospital Picaso. We were also privileged to work alongside DKSH, Teleflex, and the Business Networking Club (BNC).
In some of our Bratology sessions during the 2024 Pinktober, we also provided a booth for free bra fittings, where participants could discover their perfect fit with the help of our expert consultants. Using a holistic fitting technique, our consultants considered each woman's unique shape and needs, guiding them to the most comfortable and supportive bra.
Here’s a quick recap of our impactful journey:
Turner International & Hospital Picaso
We kicked off with Dr. Ng Char Hong’s enlightening session on early detection and breast cancer prevention. Neubodi’s Joyce Ooi followed with a Bratology talk. Her talk highlighted the critical importance of wearing the right bra size, proper bra care, and maintaining breast health.
Hong Leong Bank
Two branches, one mission! Joyce teamed up with experts Dr. Malwinder Singh and Dr. Saladina Jaszle for talks blending breast cancer awareness and bra-fitting wisdom. Attendees loved our personalized fitting booth! This hands-on approach offered practical insights into achieving the perfect fit and the best type of bra for each individual.
DKSH Malaysia
This session, featuring Dr. Normayah Kitan, consultant Breast & Endocrine Surgeon from Hospital Picasso and also Alpro Pharmacy's health screening services, it was a wonderful collaboration dedicated to empowering women with practical tips on health and fitting the perfect bra.
Teleflex Malaysia, Kamunting
A heartfelt event with Persatuan Pink Champion Perak survivors sharing their stories. Neubodi’s Estee and Asma educated attendees on the vital topics around breast care, focusing on the essential role that bras play in supporting breast health.
Business Networking Club at Dorsett Hartamas
We wrapped up the month with a bang, combining bra talks by Neubodi, health screenings for both men ahd women, and attendees were also treated to a beautiful Chinese ink painting display by an NCSM survivor, showcasing the resilience and creativity of those affected by Breast Cancer.
From empowering talks to hands-on fittings, this Pinktober was all about spreading awareness and supporting women. Here’s to continuing the journey next year! <3 Together with all of our partners and events, we shared valuable insights and continued empowering women on their journey to confidence and wellness.
Reflecting on Pinktober 2024, we’re grateful for the impact we’ve made together. With the support of our partners and community, we’re excited for what next year will bring as we continue empowering women and making a difference!
